Happy New Year! Goodbye 2008 and Hello 2009!

Haven't been blogging for some time liao. Today being the last day of 2008, this is going to be my last blog for the year. Looking back, a lot of things has in this year. Both good and bad. I won't go into it. But I have indeed learn a lot this year. Hopefully 2009 will be a better year for each and everyone of us.

Have been busy working for the past days since last monday, over christmas and the weekends. Today is the only day I have taken a break from the shop. Spend the day doing stocks at home and loading/unloading for stocks to the shops. And went for a buffet dinner with family at Traders Hotel. It was a great dinner and I am stuffed! Haven't ate so much for such a long time. Ate due I nearly puked!

Haven't been doing my accounts since the 11th of dec (if I didn't remeber wrongly). Dunno when will I get to do my accounts again. A group of guys shoplifted from one of our shops sometime last week. The act was discovered only 1 hr after the offenders have left. Really have got to watch out from now onwards. Don't wish to incur more losses of stocks through shoplifting.

Ok lah...enough for now. Happy New Year! Wish that 2009 will be a good year for everyone of us. Have a blessed one. Cheers! See ya in 2009!

Haven't been blogging for some time. A lot of things have happened during these period. So many things that I can't be bothered to blog about it. Haven't been feeling too well lately too. Having a really sore throat and bad flu. Feels like I'm losing my voice soon. But no break for me, still have to work. Will have to be in the shop on days staffs are off.

Talking about staffs, I really really dislike staffs who give their boss the attitude esp esp esp esp when: 1. they ignore you when you are talking to them by looking at other things/places rather than at you; and 2.(which is even worst) when they retaliate by shouting at you just because they are not happy that you tell them not to do something. Not only me, but many others, find the attitude of such staffs very childish. If they carry on like this, they won't be able to work long in any company. All they think is that being able to do good sales is everything. They are so so so so so WRONG. In actual fact, in any and every place, ATTITUDE is always in number one position (esp in a retail/service company like us). Haven't they heard the saying "Your attitude determines your altitude".

As for sales in the different shop, I can't say which shop is doing better than the other. Ever since we started out in Suntec in Apr last year, we have been greatly disappointed. Now sales in Suntec sometimes can be better than in Far East. And vice versa. Still...the overall sales is slow...due to the current recession (economic slowdown) that is going on. Guess everyone is tighting their belts and spending less. Even the F&B industry is being affected, what more can I say about us in the retail industry. Sigh...I just hope and pray hard this recession won't last too long. And things will start picking up soon.

Jia you...Gambatte... San Street! We can do it!

I think I mentioned before that mum believes in feng shui. In feng shui, it mentions that each of the 12 chinese zodiac has 3 "gui rens" (favorable matches). Using my chinese zodiac (dog) as an example, my "gui rens" are tiger, horse and rabbit. Mum strongly believes in this and takes this into full consideration when we were looking for staffs. The current 3 staffs we've belongs to the 3 above mentioned chinese zodiacs that are my "gui rens". Things seems to be picking up ever since all 3 of them started working for us. Wonder if this is true or just plain coincidence. I don't really believe in this feng shui thingy. Let's just see how it goes. Mum even says that it's best that my future husband and kids are of these 3 chinese zodiacs. Ha....

This week is a slow week. It so happens that my bday fell within this week. It was on tuesday in fact (another year older). Didn't do anything special on that day. In fact I was working. No celebration this year. A couple of my cell members pop by far east to give me a surprise and to present me with my bday present and card. Thanks guys!

Starting this week (25th Oct) I'll be working from home as we have enough staffs. Our own designs has arrived. Thus Mum and I have been busy with the stocks (sticking barcodes to each one of the items and loading/unloading them to each outlet). I was only on shop front on the days my staffs were off and also when 1 of the staff took 2 and a 1/2 days sick leave. Didn't manage to attend svc and cg again this weekend. Will be working tomorrow. All the way till wednesday. Sales in suntec is doing well this weekend. Awesome! Hope it will go on like this.

It's been one month since the opening of far east shop. I can say that sales there is not bad. As for suntec, sales is improving after the shift. But with renovation happening in MPG area, the our shop and products are dusty every morning. Wonder when are they going to be finish with the renovation.

We have employed another new staff who started work in suntec on monday. I trained her there for 2 days. Now she's left there alone to man the shop by her own. She's the easiest to train out of all the other peeps I have trained so far as she has got experience in both sales and cashiering. The hardest to train is....not our china staff (which many people will think so)...but one of our guy staff (I shan't name names or mention when he started work).

Our china staff is coming back to work on sat. With her back here to work, we now have 3 staffs (2 in far east and 1 in suntec) then I wouldn't be needed to be in the shop anymore (for now that is) unless anyone of them is off. I can then start running about and also do the things that I am supposed to do....after so so so so so long. I think I will be able to go for service once again this sat. Finally....after missing a total of 7 services (& more than 7 CG meetings).

I am bored in the shop. Though far east do have more people as compared to suntec. But with the current recession going on, economy is slow, business also is slow. Hopefully the recession won't affect the business much.

The auntie opp. our far east shop keeps telling me that we can make it here in far east esp since we are doing our own brand. She's a christian as well. She even teaches me to pray every morning during opening (to lift up the day sales into His Hands) and at night during closing (to thank Him for the day's sales and for a better tomorrow). Very encouranging & nice auntie.

Been so busy in the shop. Even mum has to work in our suntec shop. She don't even have time to deal with the stocks at home. Even for me, I have got abt 1 month ++ of accounts that has yet to be done. Haven't been going for service and cell group since the start of september. 1st was busy with the shifting and now lack of manpower. This is because one of our full timer took about 4 weeks of leave to go back to her hometown to visit her seriously ill mum. What to do? No choice. Starting a business is not easy. No wonder there is a chinese saying that goes "Xian Ku Ho Tian" (directly translated as "Bitter 1st Sweet later").

We got 2 full timers and 2 part timers (but they are currently studying and can only work on weekends. we will only call them in during peak period). We will be having another new full timer coming in. Next monday to be exact. I would have to train her up. All our staffs are trained up by me. Training staffs is not an easy task. Everyone learn things in different ways. Those with the hack-care attitude, even more difficult to train. I usually give these kind of people the indifferent attitude.

We will need 1 in suntec, 2 in far east and 2 in bugis when it does open. + we'll also need part timers in all outlets during peak periods. Wonder how long more it will take before I can step out of the shop front to do the management related things that I am supposedly to be doing instead of just sitting in the shop serving customers (though it is actually rather fun, THAT IS when there are actually customers).

It's been some time since I last blogged. Far East shop have opened since the 22nd of last mth. That's about 3 weeks already. So far business in Far East is quite good, considering that we do not have much stock in Far East shop as yet. At least more people is starting to see our products now. Suntec shop has also shifted to the front. At least get to see more people now and business in Suntec is better though not that much.

Haven't been going for service and CG for the past few weeks since the beginning of Sept. Sianz.... Wonder how many more services and CGs I would have to miss. Our staff from china went back home as her mum is seriously ill. She say she will definitely come back to Singapore but not sure when. So now not enough people. Even my mum has to go to the shop front to help out.

Bugis Iluma is expected to be ready end of Nov. If everything goes well, bugis shop should be able to open for business before christmas. So now need to start employing and training new staff. Have to train up more staffs too as eventually I won't be in the shop doing sales anymore, there is so much other things that I'll need to handle - accounts, online shop, etc etc. So many things to handle that my head is getting bigger and bigger as the days go by. Also my home is becoming more and more like a warehouse....with stocks everywhere. LOL! Really hope business will pick up soon.

We are very busy this week with the shifting - both to far east and to the new unit in suntec. Suntec wants the key of our back units back by today. Yet the renovation in the new unit hasn't been done up. So pissed off. They are rushing the renovation there now. Mum and our china gal are busy in the suntec shop packing, shifting and displaying in the new unit. I am at our Far East Plaza outlet now with a new guy who we just hired. Our outlet here have opened since Monday. At least here you get to see people and more people are coming into the shop to at least look see look see although not many buy. Going to get back one of the guy whom my dad fired for some reason. He is actually quite ok. Just kinda playful. Going to give him another chance.

Today is the 1st day of F1 Grand Prix Night Race. Road closure around Suntec started since Tuesday. We were given passes to enter on non-race days. For race days, we have to enter via another entrance. The road closure will definitely affect business in suntec. Hopefully not too much.

Haven't been going for services and cg for 3 weeks liao. Going to miss cg tonight and service tomorrow as well. Sianz.....

Tuesday, September 16, 2008

Mid-autumn/lantern/mooncake festival is just over. Didn't do anything special to celebrate the occassion. Didn't had much mooncakes either this year.

Suntec is getting quieter and quieter this few days esp after most of the tenants on the inside of MPG have shifted out. Currently it's only pet fuze, couple heart and ourselves on the inside of MPG. People might be thinking that there's no shops inside and thus aren't walking in. Those who have shifted out said that business have improved for them. Can't wait for the shift to the front of MPG. Suntec says we are officially to shift out of our current unit on the 26th. That's next fri. However, the partition is not even up yet, let alone the renovation in the new unit. We are planning to shift to far east this fri/sat. If nothing goes wrong, the shop in far east should officially open on monday the 22nd. So many things to settle this month. As such cannot make it for svc and cg. After the new outlets open, I'll be even more busy. I will definitely try my best to make it for svc As for CG, I'm aren't that sure. Sigh... What to do?

Ok la...think that will be enough for tonite. Nitez!

Monday, September 8, 2008

This week is another usual week. Nothing special. But I won't be able to attend svc and CG for the entire of this mth. So sianz...

F1 going on this month. There will be road closure around Suntec. Hopefully it won't affect business too much.

Attended a secondary school friend wedding yesterday. She's looks so gorgeous. Caught up with some secondary friends too. We were talking about "those days in secondary school" and how we have been after graduating from YISS. Only 4 (including myself) turn up for the wedding of this secondary school friend of ours. Most others have lost touch already. I myself only receive an invitation from her via sms few days before her wedding. Haven't seen all of them since graduating from YISS. We were young 16 years olds then. Now all of us are already 26. That's 10 whole years. Haven't seen all of them for that long a time! WOW...how time flies. But everyone's looking prettier and prettier. What a night it was! A great catch up session too.

I am currently using my home's computer. The internet on my lappie been down these few days. Wonder what's wrong. Can't seem to get onto the net. So frustrating. Grrrrr....

Ok...time to go...getting sleepy....Zzzzzz.....

Wednesday, September 3, 2008

It's already the last mth of the 3rd quarter of 2008. 3 more mths + 27 more days before 2008 comes to an end. Wow...how time flies.

San Street has been around for 1 year and 4 months since 21st April 2007. Wonder how long will take for San Street to make a name in Singapore. My target is by the end 2009/early 2010.

Been tossing around in bed these few days....haven't been sleeping well. Like last night, I only managed to fall asleep at 6 this morning. Wonder what's the problem. Is it stress? I really hope things in San Street will get better soon.

Renovation in far east plaza is starting. If nothing goes wrong, should be able to open shop there in a couple of weeks time. As for suntec, not sure about it. The partition to split the huge circular unit has yet to be up. So can't do any renovation as yet. More people are shifting out of here. Heard that one of the new tenant taken over the back area of MPG is related to education....tuition to be exact. But what age range is the tuition targeted to? No one here knows. Suntec is not reviewing. Hmm..... Anyways, by demolishing the back area and changing it to something else will be a huge investment for suntec. Think it shouldn't be that bad. Hopefully it would bring more people up here. We are not putting much hope in the shop here in suntec. Just have to do our best. Bugis won't be ready till a few months later. Maybe end of this year?

30th August 2008

This month's sale is not good. Ever since after national day, things start slowly down. Sigh.... Really losing confidence in suntec. But since we already made our decision to stay in suntec and shift to the front, we would just have to do what we can and hope for the best. The shifting of our suntec unit to the front unit is slightly delayed. Things are more or less confirmed but shifting will most probably be in the middle of September. For both suntec and far east. Bugis will be much much later on this year. Everything was as usual this week. Except that we closed on tuesday instead of thursday. Really quiet week. Wonder where everyone went.

Went for service this morning. Pst Casey Treat preached a really good msg on faith. Just when I was losing confidence/faith in suntec and have been brooding over what dad said about having only another year to make things work out in San Street else I would have to get a job outside. This msg came right on time.

Often we ask God for an explanation when things don't go our way but he doesn't give us one. The reason is coz He wants us to have faith...to believe in Him. He only works for those who believes (have faith). Some people say "I don't feel that I have faith". Faith is not a feeling. It is a decision...it is a choice. I CHOOSE to believe...to have faith....to trust in God. God did not bring me this far to leave me here. Thank God for the great msg.

24th August 2008

Been one week since I last blogged. Nothing new happening this whole week. As usual was in suntec everyday. Except for thursday when we closed the shop for the day. Went out with mum and sis. Went to far east for a while then went to vivocity to catch "money no enough 2". I find the show nice and touching. And it's rather "singaporean". After the movie, we shopped around vivocity.

The whole of last week since monday is a very quiet week. Wonder what's if the crowd. I can see people at the main flow area of MPG but people are not walking inside to the back of MPG. Sianz. Hopefully when we shift out to the new unit at the main flow area will be much much much better.

So tired today coz of my mens Last mth my mens didn't even come. On and off it is like this (sometimes it comes on time once a mth but sometimes it comes once in 1 & a 1/2 mths or even once in 2 mths). So irregular. And whenever it comes I'll have a terrible stomach cramp, headache and backache. Dampens my whole mood man. Sianz.

It's sunday today and yet it's quiet here on the inside of MPG. Other places of suntec is rather crowded. Can't wait to move out. But the semicircle unit is still not read for renovation as the suntec has yet to put up the partition to split the huge circle unit into 2 halves.

Relocating to another unit in suntec

We will be staying put in Suntec but moving to the front instead. Suntec is taking back the whole back area. The 2 units we were given a choice to choose from are at the different parts of MPG but are of the same size/shape. Both are part a huge circle unit that is split into 2 semicircle units. Suntec gave us the 2 semicircles that are facing the back to choose. We chose the one nearer the Toy'R'Us/Happy Kids/F&B side. Suntec is now giving us another semicircular unit that is facing the front instead of the one facing the back at the same rental. We are going to start renovating our new semicircular unit soon and will be making use of most of our furnishing in our current unit. Those furnishings that can't be used in the semicircle unit will be used in our far east unit. Don't like them go to waste.

So looks like by the end of this year/beginning of next year, we will have a total of 3 shops (1 in suntec, 1 in far east and 1 in bugis).

10th August 2008

8th August was on Friday and it is the opening day for Olympics 2008 in Beijing 'Birds Nest Stadium'. I didn't catch the opening ceremony on tv though coz was in the shop. My sis will be going to Beijing for 1 week with her friend to catch the women gymnastics competition. I reckon if this day hadn't fall in the lunar 7th month (hungry ghost festival), there definitely will be a lot of chinese getting married on that day.

9th August is our 43rd national day. Happy Birthday Singapore! Caught the NDP on the internet since there wasn't much crowd in suntec anyways. Guess everyone went to esplanade or marina square to watch the NDP live. Didn't do anything to celebrate this special day of all Singaporeans. This morning woke up early and went for service in JW. Came back to the shop right after service.

Suntec have given us an offer. We MIGHT be staying on in suntec after all. If we are, we'll be shifting to a smaller unit at the front area of MPG as suntec is going to take back the whole back area for key tenants. But they are so secretive about it. We got news that one of the tenant is educational. But what kinda educational, we dunno. Anyways, if we do stay in suntec, this shop can act as a form of advertising medium for our ther outlets. After all, we have already build a customer base here having been here for 1 year. We are given 2 units (both are semicircular units of the same size and frontage. just that they are facing different direction - one nearer Asiasoft/Eng Wah/Rock side while the other is nearer the Toys'R'Us/Happy Kids/F&B side). Not sure which side to choose if we are really going to stay. Really got to make a serious decision abt this.

Should we take the risk, stay on, and try out for one year? Feeling kinda apprehensive about it as the crowd here doesn't seem to get any better. God give me a direction of which I should go? Leave suntec or stay in suntec? And if we are staying, which unit should we choose?

6th August 2008

National day is approaching. Here's wishing Singapore and all Singaporean a happy happy 43rd birthday.

Nothing new to blog except the usual.

Sitting in suntec shop day in day out for 10 hours waiting for customers to come in is really unbearable. This "ghost town" is STILL a "ghost town" after 1 year and 4 months. Whoever walks in, we will try our best to serve them as every single customer counts. And when they don't buy anything, it is a real disappointment.

If retail is not my passion, I might have already given up long time ago. But then again, maybe not, coz perserverance is in my blood. No matter what, I got to press on and fight this fight of faith. If God can bring me to it, He can bring me through it.

Really can't wait for far east shop to open. We will be reusing our furnishings in suntec for our far east shop. When that side is ready, we will shift out of here. Bugis Iluma will only be ready sometime in Nov. So our bugis shop will only be open around then. Just nice for christmas, new year and chinese new year peak periods. Our far east and bugis shops are quite small. If it is not busy, one person should be enough to handle. And then I won't be seen in the shop that often, will be handling more management related stuffs and our online shop orders.

3rd August 2008

It's been 1 week since I last blogged. Nothing new in my life. As usual day in day out in suntec other than on thursday when we closed the shop for the day. Went to far east with mum to walk around. Pop by our new shop there. Didn't go in. Just stood outside to observe as well as discuss whether or not we can move our furnishing in suntec shop to use here in far east. Since we are already moving out of suntec, we might as well use the furnishing there for far east shop as much as possible. Don't wanna waste them. At the same time, can cut down on the renovation cost. Went to west coast area after that with mum and sis for facial before returning home.

Was in the shop on friday till about 6++ . Mum brought over home cooked food for me. Ate before I left suntec for SIS. Parachute Band, Pst Reuben Morgan and Pst Mike Conner are in town for the 3 night of FOP and friday was the very 1st night. It was an awesome night overall. Even saw Li Nanxing there. Haha.... But that is not the main point. If I can, I would also wanna go for both the 2nd and 3rd night of FOP. But can't make it. Got to be in the shop for the weekend.

National day drawing near. For the past few weeks, national day songs are being played on radio and repeated a number of times a day. I can almost memorise the whole of this year's national day song: "Qing Kong Wang Li". So can my staff from china. Hehe...

Ok la...enough for today. Nothing else to blog.

28th July 2008

After reading a couple of my previous blog entries, I find that my english is becoming more and more broken. Must be talking too much with those ITE xiao dis dis and xiao meis meis who frequent the shop, thus my english is becoming more and more like them. But there are our regular customers, so got to have casual chat with them rather than merely serving them.

After such a long time, this weekend sales can be considered rather good. Another round of the boring weekdays is starting soon....in another 10 more hours. Often I don't even want to go to Suntec to open shop. It's so so so so sian in suntec. The staffs/tenants in MPG is even more than the people walking around there.

As we sit in the shop waiting for customers to come, watching the hours tick by,our motivation level drops slowly but surely. The shops in MPG are already starting to open late and closing early. Coz there's no body, shop open also no used. Might as well close then shop, cut cost and also have a bit more time to rest. MPG is turning into to a 'ghost town'. I am really sian with that place now. Another 1 month and 1 week left there. Really can't wait to shift out of there asap.

Friday, July 25, 2008

25th July 2008

This week a couple of reporters have been coming down to MPG at different occassions to interview the tenants in the area. Coz recently someone posted up the "New youth shopping area in Suntec a 'ghost town'" article in stomp.com.sg.
(http://singaporeseen.stomp.com.sg/singaporeseen/viewContent.jsp?id=28528). Suntec may think that we are the ones who ask the reporters to come down. Though the truth is we did not.

Suntec is really like a ghost town. With so many shops closing down, less and less people are coming up to level 3. The 'crowd' in suntec is getting from bad to worse. Like that how to do business. Really can't wait to get out of this place. Can't wait to shift to far east and bugis. My parents say if 1 year after shifting to far east and bugis, business in San Street still cannot make it, I will then have to go and work somewhere else instead. Sigh... I really don't want to. Pray hard that business will pick up.

Today closed the shop for the day once again. Woke up later than usual. Did some accounts and then went down to bugis junction with mum and sis to shop. Bought some bottoms for myself (both pants and skirts). Been a long time since I went out to shop. Have been 'shopping' in the neighbouring shops in MPG lately. Tomorrow will be another day in suntec. Another boring day. But we will just do our best and put the rest in God's hands. Jia you le!!! Gambatte Ne!!!

Careless weekend...

The reason I changed my add is coz I've been using the username "sandyonfire" to log in to many places and a lot of people know that. As such to prevent just anyone to read my blog, I had to change my blog add to something else.

Whether or not people read my blog doesn't matter. I will just blog anyways.

I keep losing things last weekend. 1st my POSB ATM card on sat and then my mobile phone on sun. While I was searching ard for my mobile phone, I actually found my ATM card. But I've already cancelled the card the day before. DAMN. Had to go get myself any ATM card from the bank which I did on mon. This is the 2nd time I lost my mobile phone this year. Within just 4 months. How careless of me.

Nothing much to talk about Suntec now. Getting really bored with that place. The more I stay in Suntec, the more discouraged I get. Can't wait to shift out of there and into Far East and Bugis. Another bubble tea shop opened in suntec on the same level as our shop. It's called rockery. Tried it. But I think Cup Walker on level 1 is much much better. The proportion of pearls they give are much more also. Cup Walker rules the bubble tea market!!!!

11th July 2008

It seems that suntec has no tenant to take over the place as yet. Whether or not they are taking back the place or not, we are going to shift out of here. We can't stay here any more. It's driving us crazy. No crowd here at all. Ghost town. When people heard that our shop is at suntec, they say it is a good place. Yea right....good place....but only for level 1 & 2. NOT level 3. We are even closing every thursdays now so as to cut cost.

We'll be shifting to far east sometime in sept after the current tenant shift out of there at the end of aug. Bugis Iluma has now been confirmed. The mall should be ready ard oct/nov. So we will shift in ard then. Renovation can be done within a week or 2.

5th July 2008

With the current situation at MPG of suntec, it is a must for us to shift out of there. We 1st entered suntec with high hopes; now ended up with great disappointment of that place. We have let the suntec mgmt know of our intention to shift out by Sept of this year. They want to take back all the units at the back of MPG (including ours) anyways. Suntec CEO will be having another meeting with my dad. Pray hard that they will let us shift out without us having to pay any compensation. Far east shop is opening sometime in Sept. While Bugis Iluma shop will only open when the mall there is completed and our renovation is done. Most probably in Nov.

Went for service today. Younger sis took the car so I had to take taxi/bus to & from church. Younger sis will be taking the car every weekend. So I guess its down to the taxi/bus for me on weekends till she returns back to London. Whatever it is. Doesn't matter how I can get to church. The most impt thing is that I can go for service. It's great to be back again. Miss the atmosphere so so so so much. Pst Mike Connell service is great. He preached on disappointment just when I am having great disappointment in MPG. But I have already placed the situation in suntec into God's hands a few days ago.

Intially I felt that I'll be a failure if San Street were to shift out of Suntec. But now I don't feel that way anymore. Those were just negative thoughts that he devil has placed in me. I've decided to let go and let God. If the only way is to shift out of suntec then we shall shift. It's not as if San Street will disappear forever. San Street will still be around. It will just be located in some other locations. God knows what's best.

My parents says that if we are still not making money after entering Far East and Bugis, I will be have to go out and work some where else. Pray hard that Far East and Bugis will be a success. I believe it will be. Those 2 places are afterall still way way way better than suntec MPG. I can do it...through Christ who strengthens me. Lord, I trust in You to guide me in the steps I should take.<p>

I miss church....

Haven't been attending church svcs and cg for 6 weeks straight already. Sigh....I miss church so much. But what to do. I hope I can go back for svcs (at least) next week onwards. When Far East and Bugis opens, I will be more busy.

Still not sure what are we going to do with Suntec shop. Suntec CEO will be giving my dad a confirmed answer (whether to stay put at our current location with rental rebate or shift out our round circle shop to another shop in front and close our longish shop)) on mon. I see a suntec mgmt staff measuring the length of the back area of MPG (all the way from #03-027F to 027N) and talking another guy who looks like a contractor. It seems that suntec mgmt have come to a decision as to what they are going to do with the back area of MPG. Dunno what they have planned for us. Let's see on mon. If rent after rebate or for the new shop in front is still not sufficient to cover our sales, we are definitely going to shift out of here.

Closed for the day...again...

We closed for the day once again. This time isn't on mon. Coz we realised that from our sales records that though mon sales is bad, another weekday is worse and that is thursday. And so we decided to close on every thursday.

Didn't sleep in this time round. Was up earlier than usual to learn how to use an accounting system which my mum has been using (she upgraded the system to the latest version). A guy from the company came down to give the lesson. He's coming down again next thurs. The 2 lessons are included in the package. From the start of next month, I'll have to start doing the accounts. I've had the system installed on my laptop too for easy access when I am on the run.

Went to watch a movie at vivo with mum and younger sis in the evening. "10 promises to my dog". A japanese drama with chinese and english subtitles. I love it. The dog in the drama is so kawaii and so faithful. Reminds me of Dooby. Dooby is of old age now. If my parents didn't send him to the animal hospital that day his nose was bleeding, he would have been gone by now. Got to cherish him more. And of course lil baby yogi.

Like what I've been blogging in my past entries, suntec crowd in MPG really cannot make it. Even my customers/members say so too. It seems like their plan of demolishing the back area can't come to fusion as there is yet to be any big tenant. Not sure if suntec will still give us rental rebate (without having to sign any personal guarantee). We have decided to shift out in Sept if there is still no rental rebate. Just write to suntec to say we are shifting out then take action to shift out (like what another shop has done). Those tenant who came in later than us and has only signed 1 year contract then were given rental rebates/benefits by suntec so that they will extend their contract. Others who came in earlier than them and signed a longer term contract (like us and a few others) have no such rental rebates/benefits. And when we approached suntec to ask why we were not given such benefits. Suntec say they have never given any tenants in MPG such benefits. Liar! Some shops have extended contract with the new rental rebates/benefits e.g. one of our neighbours.

Sick and tired of being sick and tired

Been so tired these few days. Been down with a bad flu and very itchy throat for the last few days. Every morning will wake up with a headache. Eat pharmacy med still cannot get better. Is it the weather or is it stress? I think it's stress. With suntec business like this, who will not be stress. Our total losses till now is enough to buy a condo or even a mercz. It's as if we are throwing money away just like this. Though it's not my own money but I also heart pain leh.

Suntec CEO mentioned to my dad before that we don't have to sign any personal guarantee. He will try to get the rental rebate for us. But when we ask about our rebate, suntec mgmt says that since we never sign the personal guarantee, there is no rental rebate for us. What the ......toooooooooooooooooo.......!!!!!!! How can they do that. They never mean what they say. Say one thing, do another. I am getting really frustrated with suntec. Don't care already. We will be closing shop every thursday (the worse day of the week). No use, sitting in the shop waiting and waiting. We also most probably will be shifting out in September.

Far east shop is opening in September. The current tenant's contract ends end of this month but they want to rent the unit from us for another month to clear stocks. However, mum says that if they want to rent, they would have to rent for 2 months....if not cannot rent (the main reason for that is coz of 7th month ghost festival....it's not auspicious to start business of a shop in that month). So they will be renting the shop from us for both july and august. And we will take over in September. Do minor renovation then shift in.

When I went to the toilet just now, I overhead that Tay Ping Hui is at the arcade. After I came out from the toilet, I went there to peep for a while before going back to the shop. He was at the entrance of the arcade with another actress (dunno who is she though) and the filming crew. Guess they are filming a show. I just finished watching a rerun of a drama he acted in (honour and passion) and now I see him real life in suntec. He is one of my fav star in mediacorp Channel 8 although I don't watch much of Channel 8 shows (I'm more of a Channel 55 and 56 person).

21st June

Today is the 21st of June. A rather significant day...but that was 2 years ago and 4 years ago. 4 years ago today (21st June 2004) was my graduation day for my bachelor's degree in UQ. And 2 years ago today (21st June 2006) was my graduation day for my master's degree in UQ. My elder sis mentioned b4 at my master's graduation that maybe I should have my wedding on 21st June as well since it is such a significant day. LOL! But that will still be few years down the road.

Suntec has been really quiet as usual. Dunno how long we can tahan in there. Suntec is always saying one thing and doing another. They dun seem to mean what they say. So irritating and frustrating. Sigh....what to do. So confident when we step into Suntec. And now all hopes in suntec are dashed. We are really going to out. Going to talk to Suntec one more time. If still same result, DEFINITELY shifting out. We are going to shift into far east in september anyways. And there is a high possibility that we are also going to have a small unit in Bugis Iluma (the new shopping mall opposite Bugis Junction and beside Bugis Street). I believe there should be crowd there.

Closed for the day....

We told our staff to take the day off today and closed for the day. With us (the biggest tenant in MPG there) + many other shops closed today, the whole MPG will definitely be quiet.

Don't know what suntec has in mind. Whatever they say is so contradicting. Different people in the suntec mgmt tells each tenant different things. We don't know which is the truth and what suntec has planned for for MPG. What are they up to? Why are they so unprofessional? This time really MUST get out of suntec already. You know what...during the weekends...level 3 is so quiet but when we go down to level 1 and 2....there were soooooooooooooooooo many people that it is so difficult to walk. The whole suntec is like an inverted version of heaven and hell. If you know what I mean. Sianz man. Why like that? Why aren't people coming up? Give up on suntec!

Slept in a lil longer today then went to vivocity with mum to catch the fashion show/event there. The clothes there are unique and nice. We managed to get 2-3 contacts from there. We planned to bring in some of their products to sell in San Street. We also bought quite a number of clothes there. Mum wants me to "gai bian xin xiang". LOL! Since we were there, we went to pet safari to look for a companion for our lil puppy, yogi. Found out that there was a puppy (of the same breed as our yogi) available few days ago but as we were uncontactable, the shop sold it to someone else (they placed as on waiting list when we told them to contact us if they have the puppy we were looking for). Sigh. If not, lil yogi will have a companion by now. We are now on the waiting list again. Hope we can find another one soon. After that, went to clementi central for eyebrow treading, hair cut, colour and treatment. That's how I spend my whole day today. Now all charged up again for "battle" tmr. Hopefully it is not another quiet day at MPG tmr. *Fingers crossed*

Going crazy with the MPG crowd

I'm going crazy with the MPG crowd. This can't even be called a crowd. Where is everyone? 1st and 2nd flr of suntec always have a lot of people. But when you come up to 3rd flr. It is just like heaven and hell (3rd flr being hell). Like that how to carry on in suntec. I've always been carrying high hopes here. Keep telling myself that this place will get better. But after 1 year and 3 months, this place has no changes. In fact we feel that it is getting worse. More outlets are shifting out. Just this weeks, 2 shops (side by side) have shifted out. They are already located outside, where the main flow of people are in MPG, yet they are also shifting out. What about us on the inside of MPG? At the end of this month, another 3 shops will be shifting out (1 is also located at the outside where the main flow of MPG is). With so many shops shifting out of MPG, this place is quieter and quieter. Cannot make it man. Even I can't stand the crowd in MPG now. Looking at the crowd like this everyday, can really drive a person crazy. This place is a ghost town. Think the best solution is to get out of MPG and shift somewhere else.

We are getting along with MPG complain queen and her son now. Think they don't want to make things big anymore (they still do complain about other shops though. but not that often now). Heard from them that they are going to shift out too. Suntec has a plan of demolishing all the units at the back (i.e. #03-027F/G/H/J/K/L/M/N, #03-080, #03-082, #03-085) and convert it to a gallery or some sort. In other words, the current tenants of these units would have to shift out to another unit. #03-027F/G will already be shifting out end of this month so it wouldn't affect them. The rest of the tenants affected by this decision will be us (as we are occupying #03-027K/L/M/N & #03-085) and 4 of our neighbours (#03-027J, #03-027H, & #03-082 where there are 2 tenants). Suntec mgmt wants us to stay in MPG and suggest we shift to the outside with the main flow. But even shops at the outside with the main flow have/are shifting out. How good can the units at the main flow be then? The thing is that MPG has a wrong mix of tenants. A lot of people who step in MPG have said so. Why just don't the suntec mgmt get it? All they say is "we're doing sthg about it". But I don't see anything they are doing. They really want us to die here is it? Frustrating!

Bugis Iluma (the new 10-storey mall opposite bugis junction and beside bugis village) that is opening end of this year is offering us a place there. Though the rent there is pretty high, at least bugis already have the crowd. Whenever we go to bugis junction or bugis village, there are always people there. I believe it will be even better than this place they call MPG in suntec.

We're considering closing on Mon to Wed next week. It's so quiet. Open also no use. Sales only just enough to pay our girl. What abt rental, utility and such.

Conclusion....is to shift out, even if suntec sues us for breaking contract. But we can also sue them for the wrong mix of tenants and misrepresentation. This place is not even a tiny bit like what they proposed to us before we sign the rental contract with them. Initially we are told that this will be of a youth concept but it's seems more like a ladies/aunties shopping area or maybe like HK "nu ren jie" (ladies street). When we speak to suntec about it, they say "the youth have no buying power". What the??? How can they just change like that? It's all in the contract. How can they just change their concept for this area just like this? With such a mix of tenants, whenever suntec does promotion to bring the youth up, the shops selling "auntie" clothings complain. This place is supposedly a youth place, what's wrong with doing promotion to bring the youth up? If suntec really wants to make this a youth shopping area, they should "get rid" of all those shops selling "auntie" clothings.

Business better....slightly.....

It's school holidays. Business getting better (slightly) with the GSS going on. Hopefully all the advertisement we have done will pay off. Though business is better, still not enough to pay rent. How about our other costs? Suntec say they will get back to us fast but till now no news. How fast is their fast? Oh...just heard that dad has another meeting with suntec ceo on fri morning. Wonder what do they have to offer us now. If suntec is not reducing our rental (max $6000), we have no choice but to shift out suntec. Even if it means having suntec suing us in court. Not that we don't want to stay, if we stay we will just die (loss more money) here. This place really cannot do. Such high rental yet this kind of crowd. This can't even be called a crowd. Some shops have already close shop and "ja-bo". Others are going to do so too. A couple of shops told us they will be shifting out end of this month. This place is getting quieter and quieter. How to do??? Suntec offer us sthg better or we will shift out too.

Our QW shop was officially closed on 21st May. After mum did the remaining accounts for QW outlet and stock checked all the stocks brought back home from QW, we found: (i) HORRIBLE total monthly sales for the last three months (mar, apr, may) and (ii) 11 missing stocks. What have our QW staff been doing the past three months? After she was told she don't have to come to work already, we heard from the people from the other shops in QW that for these few months our QW staff hasn't been really working. Everyday there is a group of boys (her friends) gathering in the shop. Who will dare go in the shop when they see so many people gathering in the shop. And she say she has tried her best. BULLSHIT! Even when my friends come, they don't gather in the shop. Other shops bosses have told us about the working attitudes of malay staffs. But we still employ them anyways. But after my own experience, I've lost my faith in ALL malay staffs. No matter how good a worker they are, their working attitudes are all the same. Bad working attitude. No longer are we going to employ malay staffs. So far we have had 3 malay staffs and that's enough. No more!

The complain queen of MPG have been smiling and talking to me these few days. Last few months all I hear is her complains and all i see is her long face. Seems like the situation between us and her is getting better. Maybe her partner have received our lawyer letter. A mth or 2 ago, my car was being knocked by another car while parked in suntec's carpark causing our number plate to dropped out. The car just drove away like that without leaving any note. But a witness saw the accident, took the the other car's number plate and left us a note at my car door. He also gave us a description of the driver of the other car. Complain queen's partner matches the description of that person who hit our car in suntec's carpark and drove away. Also she and and her family/friends, etc know what car and the car number plate we drive. After the accident, she dare not even park her car near the lifts which she always did. If it's not them, why do they have to be so afraid that we will do sthg to their car (we know what car she drive and her car's number plate too. But we didn't intend to do anything to her car. We just want the person who knocked our car to pay for the damages).

I have nothing against her. If she don't keep showing people her long face or complaining, I won't mind helping her. I have nothing against her. We are neighbours anyways. We will see each other everyday until one of us shift out of suntec. My parents still don't want to see her face or talk to her. They really can't stand her. They don't let me buy things from her shop either. Others in MPG dislikes her too. To the extent that no matter how much they like the clothes/accessories she sell, none of them will buy from her. Why does she have to make the situation so bad until this extent...that no one in MPG likes her?

Seems as if I've nothing to blog except....

It seems as if I've nothing to blog except about the shop. Sounds boring eh? Like I've no life at all. Sigh....what to do. It's not easy to be a business owner.

This week sales seems to be picking up (as compared to last week's). Maybe it's coz of GSS. Don't know why. Been having a headache these few days. Also I'm down with a slight flu and cough. Maybe it's coz of a lack of sleep.

Suntec say they are working out something for us. But it doesn't seem to be so. There's still no news from them till now. Getting real bored with the crowd in suntec (you can't even call this a crowd). We need our shop in somewhere "hot" (i.e. where there's crowd). Suntec is "cold" every day (if you get what I mean).

Most probably I won't be going for service till the end of june. I'll need to be in the shop coz of GSS. 2 people is not enough to handle the GSS weekend crowd in suntec. Need at least 3. But don't want to hire another person. Got to cut costs till things get better.

Great Singapore Sale (GSS) @ San Street Suntec

Lots of shops are having GSS now. So are we. We started our GSS (UP TO 50% off) on vesak day and will last till 30th June.

Weekends were busy. It was crazy when the crowd just zoom in. As it was only me and my staff in the shop, it was really difficult to keep an eye on all 3 places (our longish shop, circular shop and our promotion table & rack in the promotion area). Had to call my mum down to help out. With such an overflow, I doubt I can make it for svc on the next few weekends until GSS is over.

That irritating woman of MPG is at it again. Always trying to find trouble with us. We already cannot be bothered with her. There are days when I don't even know when she opened/closed shop. All I know is that when I turned around her shop has opened/closed.

We got approval of suntec mgmt to put our products on a table (provided by them) + our own rack (if needed) at the promotion area until the end of june. Our table and rack are not even blocking her shop, yet she's complaining so much. Who does she think she is? Basically anyone who uses the promotion area (even with suntec mgmt approval), she will complain that they are blocking her shop. Hello?!?! That is a promotion area. With suntec's approval, people are allowed to use it for events. She's acting as if she owns the whole of MPG. Her logic is that she can block people while others cannot block her. What logic is that? In the 1st place, no one is blocking her. She is just finding trouble with people in MPG. Just business she's jealous that other shops are doing better than her. Rather than putting the blame on others, all she need to do is smile more. Everyone in MPG dislikes her and know her as complain queen.

So difficult....

Doing business is soooooooooooooooo difficult esp in suntec. Suntec is a ghost town. It's very sian thing when there is no crowd. These few days is soooooooooooooooooo quiet. Where is everyone? It's almost school holidays and GSS have began in a lot of shops. Why is there still no people? It's so frustrating.

Dad and the CEO had a meeting. He's offering rental reduction without having to sign the personal guarantee thingy. Nothing is confirm yet though. The CEO still need to talk to REIT about it [Suntec is under REIT (Real Estate Investment Trust....no idea what's that)]. So frustrating. With this kinda crowd, even with rental reduction, it's very hard to do. How??? Must we really shift out.

I just got to know someone who used to work in 77th Street. He and some of his ex-collegues left 77th Street for some reason (which I won't review here). He's almost 10 years older than me and have got about 18 years of retail/fashion experience. He's currently not working. Still looking for job. He say if we need people he can work for us. He can help us set up of Far East outlet and build our brand. I can learn a lot from him just by talking to him. What's more working with him. Oh...and did I mentioned....he's also from CHC. But my mum still thinking about it as she wants to make sure his chinese horoscope does not crash with either mine or my mum's horoscope (as I said before my mum really believes in this). See how it goes.

What to do....

Our QW staff has found an admin job in a govt company & this month is the last month she's working with us. B'coz it was her off day on fri, I couldn't go for cg. Sat she called in sick (so I couldn't go for svc too). And late last night (or should I say early this morning) I was told that she still cannot make it to work. That's 3 days straight of not coming to work.

Since we're already thinking of shifting out of QW earlier than planned (right after vesak day ph is over) and since she's only working till end of this month, yet she's not able to come to work these few days, we decided that she might as well don't have to come back anymore. It's only today and tmr anyways, my mum can work there these 2 days. So now we are down to only 1 full-time staff - our rather new staff from china (almost 2 months).

Our far east shop will open maybe in july or maybe in august. The current tenant there has yet to inform us whether or not they'll be renting the unit in july to clear their stocks. After they have shifted out, we still have to do some renovation. But renovation...can be done in a couple of weeks.

A friend (boss of another shop) says that at least he's got a few part-timers on his staff list who are all on rotation basis. If the rostered person can't make it to work on a certain day, he can get someone else to come take over. Unlike us, if one of our staff cannot make it (for e.g our QW staff), then operation stops. Operation won't stop. There's still my mum who can step up to the frontline too when the need arises. It's not we don't have staffs. It's just that we don't want to hire more staffs. Our main focus now is to cut costs as much as possible till business is much better/ more stablised before we hire more staffs. My parents say that with my qualifications, it's a waste that I'm doing the job of a salesperson. They ask me to go and work somewhere else instead. But retail is my passion. This is still the beginning, when business is more stablised, I wouldn't be "working as a salesperson" anymore and will be handling mgmt issues. You know...."Xian Ku Hao Tian"???

Suntec really cannot make it liao. Still as quiet....even on the weekends. Suntec still wants us to shift out. Not out of My.PlayGround (MPG) though. But out of our current unit and into another unit in MPG. They have a plan of making the back area into an art gallery or alike. But the other units will have to move too. If they want us to move out, they would have to offer us sthg much much better than what they offered us earlier. If we shift out to another unit, we'll still have to do renovation in the new unit and our renovation for our current unit will go to waste. Won't it be better if it is a win-win situation for both of us. The total amount of our losses in suntec outlet can buy a mercedez or even a HDB executive flat. I believe everyone of us would rather want the mercedez/flat than lose that amount of money just like that.

Quiet....

I last blogged on last thursday. Since then, I had two 1/2 days on fri and sat (as usual). Went for cg and service on fri nite and sat afternn respectively. It was mothers' day service this week. It was so touching. I weeped..... After service on sat, went to BB to celebrate weijian's birthday. While mum took over my place in suntec on both days. When I came back to the shop on sun, heard that my mum and our staff couldn't handle the crowd on sat nite. They could have called me to come back down to help. I believe weijian and the rest will understand.

It was officially Mothers' Day yesterday. Got my mum a bouquet of flowers. The flowers I got her last year was bigger and more expensive than this year's (last year was also the first time I got mum flowers). But size/cost does not matter, it's the thought that really matters. Hopes she likes it. The crowd on mothers' day is pathetic esp after 6pm. Think everyone went to celebrate mothers' day. It doesn't feel like a sunday yesterday.

Today is equally quiet..no crowd as usual. How long can we last here in suntec. Suntec has nothing new to offer us. If suntec want us to shift to a unit in front, they should at least give us a much much better offer. If we shift, what about renovation? Don't renovate? Then how will people be able to see our shop concept? They don't know how to put themselves in the shoes of the tenants ah? All they think is themselves and refuse to give rental rebate. If other malls can give rebate, why can't suntec. All they can give is excuses.

As planned, we will be closing queensway shop at the end of this month and transferring to far east. But the opening of far east shop will be delayed, as the current tenant there wants to extend their rent for another month (initial handover is end of june) so as to clear their stock. They will be paying us rental of course. So I guess far east shop will only open sometime in august.

"Suntec mall tenants seeking lower rent"

Oh my gosh...it's soooooooooooooo quiet. Suntec is such a dead town. Not a soul walking around (other than just tenants and staffs of the shops here).

In today's ST, there's an article that mentions of Galleria tenants complaining of low sales that are not even enough to cover rental. They are even seeking lower rent (For more, refer to article in 8th May 2008 ST p. H20 titled "Suntec mall tenants seeking lower rent"). Level 1 shops are already like that...what's more us on level 3. My.PlayGround tenants (including us) are intending to email ST individually to inform them that we are having the same problem but at a worse situation as most people in Singapore do not even know that this place even existed. I think this will definitely pressurise Suntec to do something about it.

It's so quiet. Should we start our GSS promotion earlier? A neighbouring shop in My.PlayGround is doing a 4-days Mothers' Day Promotion. And the irritating woman of My.PlayGround is "telling her off" for doing the promotion saying that it is affecting her business. Crazy ah. Other shops doing promotion is not her problem what. They have the right to do promotion esp to clear their older stock, if not what? Hang them for show? Collect dust? Cockroaches to bite? Crazy woman. Everything also complain. In a couple of weeks time, the whole Singapore will be doing promotion during GSS (from what I know, GSS promotion gives UP TO 70% discount). Her business will really really really be affected then if she don't join in the promotion.

Suntec nothing new to offer....

These few days/weeks have been very very quiet. I suppose everyone is waiting for the GSS period. Maybe we should start of GSS sale sooner than planned.

Earlier, suntec offered to reduce our rental for our current units on condition that we extend our contract for another year (i.e. till apr 2011. our current contract is suppose to end apr 2010). Rental will increase after each year. A week before last, they offered us a big circular unit outside (nearer the happy kids side. i.e. tower 2). Apparently, they want back the whole row of units at the inside area (#03-027G/H/I/J/K/L/M/N) for a bigger player to come in and take the whole row of units. But it seems that the our neighbours in unit 027I and 027J are not intending to shift out. Only #03-027G&H will be shifting out. This month is their last month in suntec.

If we shift outside, we would have to spend more money on renovation else no one will be able to see our shop concept. We rejected the offer to shift to the unit outside. They want my father to sign a personal guarantee for rental reduction for our current units . If we sign the guarantee, when things still don't improve, we won't be able to back out. If we back out, they can cease our personal assets. So as for now, not sure what's our plan is for suntec as yet. For now, it will be "wait and see" I guess.

I would have to be in suntec more often now. I'll only be having 2 half days every week (fridays and saturdays) when I'll be going for cg and svc. Won't be having any more off day. Our part-timer seem to have 'disappeared' after he started school. Our queensway staff has also tendered her resignation and will be working only till end of this month. But it's ok. Soon we will only be having one shop - suntec. We are confirming shifting out of queensway end of this month. We will be switching products but we won't be managing or manning the shop there after this month. Far east shop will only open some time in july. So for now one staff + me/my mum in suntec is more than enough.

What to do???

Haven't blog for almost a week. Been so tired.

Dunno what we are going to do for suntec outlet. Things doesn't seem to be working out with the suntec management.

For queensway, we are definitely going to shift out. I really really disliking that place more and more. The way people there is pressing us for discount is really really too much. Think our shop is a pasar malam or what? Our products though not yet known in Singapore as yet is after all still a brand. And I really hate the environment there. Whenever I am there, I will just hide in the shop and ignore things around me (go out to the toilet or buy food only twice the whole day. 3xs the most). If you ask me, I still prefer suntec then queensway. Although yes suntec is quiet but i feel it's much better than queensway. Queensway definitely must shift.

Staffs...already down to 2 full-timers (& 1 part-timer). Yet we are still having staffs headaches. When either me or my mum is not around in the shop, sales are always bad. When we are there it's a different story. I'm not pinpointing on any one of them. It's actually all of them. It's also not the first time already. They just do whatever they want when you are not around. We may not be there but we know. We got spies around both queensway and suntec. When you "scold" them, they are not happy and give you the attitude. Also how can staffs just sms and say "I am not coming to work today". Don't want to come to work then don't come. They think they own the shop ah?? So hard to find good responsible staffs nowadays. HEADACHE with them la. ARGHHH!!!!!

Been not feeling well....

I think I'll blog every alternate days. Then again...maybe not. See how it goes.

Haven't been going online for the past 2 days coz haven't been feeling too well. Been vomitting and been having terrible giddiness and backache since wednesday evening. Mum says maybe its food poisoning or maybe coz my time of the month is coming soon. I think it's the time of month coming soon...top up with stress. Since the start of this year these are the symptoms I have just before my time of the month comes. Felt so terrible last few days. But still have to work. No choice. Last few days everyone say I look pale. I am ok today.

Yeah....I can go for cg later . I thought I won't be able to go to both cg and svc after my parents found out that I've been giving to building fund. But it seems not. They just disallow me to "donate" to church. I was intending to stretch it for another month but looks like I won't be able to fulfil my pledge for this building fund. :(

Parents found out about building fund

I am feeling so tired and having a terrible headache. Stressed up. Stressed about the shop. Also my parents found out about me giving to church's building fund and are very angry about it. They say I don't know what is hard earned money. Of course I know what it is. They are also holding onto the worldly thoughts about giving to church such as "churches are all the same, all cheating people of their money", "City Havest already so rich...how can they squeeze money out of young people like this" and so on.

They also found out about the previous building fund just when it was coming to an end. I was hesistant to give to this building fund initially coz I knew they will object, but on the other hand I was challenged to do so. So decided to go ahead with it despite it. But just when this building fund is about to come to an end, they found out about it. I told them I gave willingly. But they say I am being brainwashed in church. No....I am not! I know what I am doing.

Can't I do things on my own free will and make my own decisions. I am already almost 26, still before I make a decision I would have to go through them first. Why are they so controlling? Don't they know psychologically speaking, this is not good for the person concerned.

San Street 1st Anniversary

Yesterday went to expo for service. Pst Kim SungHae (the wife of Pst Yonggi Cho) from Yoido Full Gospel Church in Korea (the world's largest protestant church) came to minister to us in expo services. I pray that CHC will have the same anointing as Yoida Full Gospel Church and our church will grow from 23,000 members to 30,000 members then to 50,000 members......... Amen!

Went back to suntec after service and lunch with cgm. Sales yesterday in suntec was quite good. Haven't had such sales for a long time. At times there were a sudden surge of people coming into the shop and at other times it's very quiet. Though business was good, I did a stupid mistake. One of my previous staff made that same mistake before and was made to pay back. I was aware that I shouldn't make such a stupid mistake but think coz there were too many people I kan chiong abit and I made that mistake I know I shouldn't be making. The mistake is of a bigger amount as compared to the amount of the mistake my previous staff made. I've to come out with that amount from my own pocket. $100++ leh...."Xin Dong Ah"!!! What an expensive lesson. Next time must be careful so as not to make the same mistake.

Today's the 1st anniversary of San Street. It's been one year already. How time flies. How long more is it going to take us to start making profits? Got to continue perserve.

Got a unit in Far East

I wonder if anyone's reading my blog. But I'll blog anyways. Get it out of my system.

Yesterday's cgm was good. There wasn't any Word, just a time of worship and prayer. Never realised that I am actually that stressed. So many things to managed. Doing business is very challenging. Very stressful and tiring.

We've place an offer to buy a unit in Far East. Yet to get a response. Hopefully they will accept our offer. If they do accept our offer, we will be leasing out the unit in QW and shifting to Far East. All this going to take some time. Maybe a couple of months. As for suntec, most probably we are staying put. But most probably going to let out 1 or 2 units and do some renovation. But that will be at a later time.

Our store room in suntec is taking up too much space. That space can be used to display more merchanise. Our whole shop (excluding our circular unit) is constitute of 4 units and 1 unit out of the 4 is taken up by just 2 fitting rooms and a store room. Can you imagine paying 1/4 of our rental just for fitting rooms and a store room? So wasted right? We have a lot of window space at the back of our shop (which is now all covered up) which we initally thought of using as storage area (like what our neighbours are doing). When we proposed this to our renovator (then), he said it cannot be done. If it really cannot be done, then why are the other shops able to do so?

Our margin for our franchisers products are too low. We can't give a lot of discounts like what other shops on level 2 are doing during their promotion period esp on GSS. This is causing us to lose out. Really can't depend on franchisers' products. We are going to to carry our own brand - San Street. Going to source for more items and come out with our own designs. We already have a designer and a manufacturer who are working with us to produce our San Street products. They have started work already. Things are still in the progress. Stay tuned to find out more. Hehe....

In short, a lot of changes are to be taken place. God strengthen me and enlarge the capacity within me. I need more of you.

Tired....

I am freaking tired. Pst Tan mentioned in a previous service that 6-7 hrs of sleep is suffient for a person as statistics show that those getting 6-7 hrs of sleep a day lives longer than those with less than 4 hrs or more than 8 hrs of sleep a day. I do get about 6-7 hrs of sleep everyday. Should be sufficient what. Why am I still feeling so tired? Maybe it's stress.

Another staff have left. There has been some misunderstanding. She may think we are mean. But we actually meant well. Note, all staffs have to go through 3 months of confirmation period when they start working for us. She's was still in her 3 months confirmation (been working for us for about 2+ mths - 10 weeks & 1 day to be exact) yet she has already taken quite a number of MCs/unpaid leave on top of her normal off days. There are also days she wanted to take unpaid leave but wasn't allowed to. None of our previous staffs ever taken a single MC/leave during that confirmation period. How can we confirm her like that? No matter which company you are working for, if you keep taking MCs/leave, sooner or later you will ask to leave the company. It doesn't matter how long you have been working in the company. But we knew her condition and close one eye about it. After some discussion, we feel that it's better for her to work part-time so as to have some time to rest. So decided to convert her to work part-time instead. If she really needs the money and wants to work full time, she would have to do so somewhere else (we already have a full-timer and her pay is much lower. we couldn't afford another one since business is still bad). But she got angry and scolded my mum with some nasty words. No matter how unhappy you are with your boss, you are not to scold him/her (unless you are prepared to go). Like that how are we to keep her even if it's only to work part time.

One thing about Singaporeans is that they can only work part time or full time for a temporary period (6 mths the most). Then we've the problem of having to look for new staffs and retrain them. We can't keep retraining people every few mths. We've got more important things to do. Even if they can work permanently full time, they are either going on MCs regularly or having to take a few days leave. As such we have no choice but to employ a foreigner (from china) to work full-time (moreover their basic pay is lower) and a couple of part-timers.

Left with me and the somewhat new staff from china (she told us she can come to work everyday, don't have to take any day off since she has nothing else to do). Though it's just 2 of us, we can handle. After all 2 in the shop is already enough, 3 is too many.

That irritating woman is at it again. Complained about our music and us doing promotion (our 1st anniversary promotion). As if our promotion is affecting her. We are not even competitors since we are selling different things. Our music is not even that loud. No one's complaining except her. Some even ask us to turn the volume up. She doesn't (more like dare not) come to tell us directly but call and complain to the suntec mgmt and ask them to send someone to tell us. At least the mgmt staff who came down is very friendly and tried to explain herself. The other time, one of the mgmt staff just shouted at me and then walked off. What kind of attitude is that? Can't she even say it nicely. Getting tired with that stupid irritating woman and all her complaining. Don't she ever get tired? We are tired of her and can't even be bothered anymore.

Forget about those uneventful things.

As I said earlier, we are currently doing promotion. But there's no crowd, what's the use of having promotion. Think everyone is waiting for the GSS period to buy things. Have to wait about another month i guess. And bear with the quietness for now.

"Magazine Day"

10th April 2008 is what i term "magazine day". LOL! Why? It's because 2 different magazine companies, namely Choices and Cleo, came down to our suntec outlet today to loan some items for their magazines. Both magazines together loaned a total of 20 items from us. If they are actual items being sold. We will be so so happy. With the 2 magazine representative coming down here one after another, it seems as if we are very busy. But as a matter of fact it is as usually quiet.

We are advertising in 3 issues of Choices magazines at our own expense (part sponsorship from our franchiser). 1 issue is out now. Another 2 issues to go. Whereas, Cleo was called down by Suntec to do an advertisemen for the tenants in My.PlayGround. They didn't go to all the shops though. Guess it is just selected shops.

Suntec is "getting rid" of those tenants who are paying their rental by commission basis and not fixed rental (Suntec termed them as insincere tenants because whether or not they have business doesn't matter to them. They are after all only paying their rent based on commission). Also suntec knows that if we get out of suntec, they will have problems renting out our units. So they are also trying to keep us here. Afterall, we are their major tenant in My.PlayGround. They are willing to give us rental reduction ON CONDITION that we extend our contract for another year (Our previous contract was 3 yrs and we've already been here for almost 1 yr. Suntec can scrap the previous contract we have if we accept this new offer).

There's 1 irritating woman in My.PlayGround (also a fellow tenant). One of our neighbours in fact. Even b4 she even did renovation for her shop, my 1st impression of her was already ruined. Just a small lil thing and she shouted at me as if I owe her something. We just put a stand in front of the lounge suntec set up for customers to sit in. We even had the permission of suntec mgmt to put it there. It's not even her shop. Who does she think she is to shout at me like that. She's a.k.a. My.PlayGround's complain queen. Everything also complain. Music complain. Performers performing or people doing promotion at the event area in front of her shop also complain (what's the events area for if no one is allowed to use it). But suntec ppl don't care her. It's afterall an event area.

We already very very considerate already. She say music loud. We lower it. Still not enough. She wants the music to be very very soft. How to hear like that. Already no ppl, no music isn't it more boring. We turn the music on loud is also to attract pple at the outside corridor in. If they do walk in, isn't it better for her also? I have customers telling me "if not for your music, I don't know there's more shop inside". Mind you, not just 1 customer. Many customers told me that before. See music helps. Still wants us to lower. Then how to attract customers. Last time our music was even louder. The shops at the outside corridor can even hear our music. Now can't even hear a thing coming from our shop from outside.

We've been here for almost 1 year and no one ever complained about our music. She been here for like what??? 3 mths or even less? and she complaining about everyone and everything. Trying to find trouble with us and others in My.PlayGround. Isn't fellow tenants supposed to help one another. Last time when mum and her were on talking terms, she say she's how rich how rich. Stay what kind of house. Drive what kind of car. Have how many shops. Rich people don't tell people how rich they are. What a proud woman.

When we have customers, she will stare at us. When she sees other shops have customers and she don't, she stare at them too. Think she's plain jealous. I smile at her. She will pull her long face and stare at me then turn away. What did I do? Everyday pull that long face of hers. No wonder she has no business. Everyone knows what's she's like and can't stand her. Also she opens her shop everyday as and when she wants (sometimes come as late as 2+ and closes as early as 6+). Sometimes we wonder if she's paying any rental at all.

Argh....don't want to talk about her already. Makes my blood boil.

We are still looking at other SC. Some we are looking at are Far East (not going to give up on that place), Haji Lane (but that's not for now. future maybe), and the new mall that is coming up at Clementi Central. We most probably going to get a shop in Far East and give up on Queensway SC. What you all think? The sales in Queensway getting from bad to worse. Crowd is getting lesser. Even lesser than suntec. Last mth sales there was horrible. Also there's so many cliques there gossipping about one another. Everytime I go there, I'll see one clique here and one clique there. Really don't like the environment there. And the way people ask for discounts there...really too much. Some even fight (verbally) with you for discounts. Want to get out of there.

Lost my hp. More training needed for new girl.

It's already April - the month San Street was officially opened. It's been almost 1 year already. 21st of this mth will mark our 1st anniversary.

I lost my phone on fri. Dad got a new one for me - Nokia 6500 - on sun. Mum, sis and her bf went to m'sia & bkk on sun. Dad left for m'sia too this morning. They most probably coming back tomorrow night. So it's one night home alone for me (other than our maid). Not really home alone la. Still got baby yogi with me. Also got to be in the shop in the day time. By the time I get home it's abt 10++ already. Poor lonely baby yogi. He seems so sad these few days. Think he misses mummy.

Still got to train up the new china girl. She still can't communicate in english. Serving chinese-speaking people is not a problem for her. It's just the ang moh and non-chinese speaking people whom she can't really serve. She also can't really communicate with my malay staff (language barrier). Speaks fast a lil, she goes blur. Currently my suntec malay staff is on a few days leave (for her wedding. yes...she's getting married). So it's just down to me and the new china girl. Think it's better this way to train her up. Let her serve all the customers and i just help her out when she faces a difficulty.

Quiet Sunday....

It's sunday. Why is it still so boring? I want more people. Then only "shiok". The new girl is getting used to it but still can't communicate much in English. She's still need more time in it. Need to help her train up her English.

Mum, sis and her bf went off to M'sia this morning. They going to BKK too. Mum will be there source for things to sell in our San Street shops. Also this week, one of my staff is taking off for her wedding. So with both my mum and her away, I've got to be in suntec outlet everyday. That means, can't go down to qw outlet. The girl there thus has no off this week (anyways, she has already taken an extra off day the week before so she will have to work this week to cover up).

I've been teased by my parents, elder sis, and some others abt having the priviledge to choose 1 out of 2 guys to be my bf. They think that they are "chasing" me. Mum even asked me to ask both of them for their "shen chen ba chi" (chinese 8-characters) to check who am I more compatible with. She also mentioned to me that my "yuan fen" (my other half) is appearing this year. Who will give their "shen chen ba chi" to other people just like that. Anyways, those 2 guys and I are just FRIENDS. Nothing more.

BF????

Haven't blog for 1 week liao. Was working over the easter weekend - friday, saturday and sunday. Didn't manage to make it for service. So sianz. But manage to catch bit bit of the drama online.

This week we have got a new girl in our suntec shop. She's from china. We went through an agency to get her. I think she's fine. "Kuai" la. Hardworking also (more than my other staffs). Only thing is her english not that good. But this she can learn as she go on. I can tell my other staff is jealous of her. Very silly of her.

Last night went for a simple dinner and movie with a friend at vivo. We caught "The leap year" together. An online friend. It's only the 2nd time I met him. I met him 1st time when he came to find me at the shop.

My mother is so "qi". Think she afraid I can't find a bf. But she also say no bf and gf until "shen chen ba chi" (chinese 8-characters) has been calculated and there's no crashes between us then can pass and go on to be bf/gf. Haha. My parents super believe in this "shen chen ba chi" thingy. All of us (my sisters and I) have to go through this. My 2 sisters and their bf have already gone through it and both have passed.

Feeling very "fan"

It seems like I've nothing to blog about other than the shop. Feels like I don't have a life other than work and church.

I don't know what to say la. Feeling so "fan". These days already so quiet. Yet staffs still giving us headaches. Feeling really frustrated. Qw staff last min taking off on fri and sat and my sun part-timer cannot make it this weekend. And thus AGAIN I can't go for svcs, let alone invite friends for svcs. Have send out e-card invitations to my friends and now I can't go. What is this? Sigh....
Though I am a Singaporeans but I still have to say this. Singaporeans cannot make it as full-timers/permanent staffs in the retail line. The most if they wanna work in retail, only part-time. I don't see other shops' bosses who employ foreign workers having the same problem as us. And I don't see them as bosses having to work in the shop. Now I understand why the boss of one of those shops employs mostly malaysians. He only have a few reliable singaporeans as supervisors. Looks like we would also need to hire foreign workers.

14/03/08, Friday

It's the TOTM again. Since my TOTM last month, have been not feeling well during this period of the month. Headache, backache, stomach cramp, sometimes even diarrhoea/vomitting. Last month TOTM was jia lat. Nearly fainted...low blood pressure. The doctor I went to last month say it's rather common. This month is much better. Know what to expect liao. Not feeling well but still got to work. Sianz.

I know/seen/heard of youngsters who are either going for abortion or are getting/have gotten married coz of unplanned pregnancy. It seems like pre-marital sex is so common among youngsters these days (I'm being very general here). What are they thinking? Like some people say "is that a trend or something???" *Shake head* Don't understand.

Anyways, though it's now school holidays, there's still not much people. Had a discussion with the reps of Choices Magazine just now and have finalised with them regarding the advertising. They are starting work already. We'll be have a 1 full page advert in 3 of issues (with 1 complimentary page). A total of 4 pages. The magazine currently is still bi-monthly, but after this issue (i.e. from May onwards) it will be changing to monthly issue. So our advert will be until the June issue. Hopefully our sales will pick up after the advertising. Also still considering whether should we go into online selling. An ex-collegue of mine can help me to start up then I'll manage the update/maintence for the site from there. But my parents think it's a expensive to do so and also worry that it will not be effective. Any suggestions whether or not we should go ahead???

Staffs....

Staffs headache man. My parents and I were just talking last night "what happen if both staffs (suntec and queensway) call in sick on the same day". And lo and behold, it happened.
Both staffs sms me last night saying that they are not feeling well and can't come to work tmr (which is today). So it's down to my mum and I. That's only 2 people. We need at least 3: 1 in queensway & 2 in suntec. Now how???

Thank God for our sunday part-time staff. When I heard both staffs can't come in, I called him up, told him the other staff is sick and can't come in tmr (which is today) and ask him if can come down to work. He say can. Thankfully he hasn't start school yet else we really got a problem here. Of all staffs we have so far since the opening of the shop, he's still the most responsible. He also pretty hardworking. If there is an overall best staff award, it will definitely go to him.

After 323 days...

After 323 days, I've finally gotten my off day. Long awaited off day. From now onwards, I've got a part-timer staff coming in every sundays, thus I wouldn't need to be in the shop unless during peak period or on the days when he/she cannot make it (after all he/she is going back to study & will only be working part-time). Also my mum say according to feng shui, the location of our queensway shop is not suitable for me. So she say I don't have to go down to queensway already. She and her feng shui. Going to train up our suntec staff in regards to the stocks there and let her go down on days queensway staff is off and vice versa. Then both staffs can switch in between outlets.

Been MIA-ing from church & cg for more than a month (late jan to late feb) coz of the peak cny period. It feels so good to be back in church again. Can also go for cg now. Ever since the opening of the shop, have not been fellowshipping with cgm, which is so so impt in our spiritual growth. Finally I can do that. Miss it so much. No longer do I have to rush back to the shop every sundays.

Business is still slow. Contacted choice magazine (Choice is retailed and available free to all in universities, polytechnics, colleges & institutions, private schools & adults education centre & some shopping malls) to find out its advertising rates. Its readers are also that of our target audience. Hope by advertising in Choice (and maybe other mags), things will pick up. Asiasoft will be coming into my.playground, suntec in a few days/couple of weeks time, hope with their opening, the youth crowds will start coming in.

03/03/08 Monday

I'm now blogging in suntec shop. Just opened shop about 1/2 hr ago. It's very quiet now so got time to blog. Most other shops are not opened yet. They are like opening their shops later and later. Guess it's due to the fact that My.PlayGround is very quiet. I am now with my suntec staff (just 1 staff now). But he/she working till some time in Jun/Jul then she will going off for couple of months or so (personal reason) before coming back to work again. During that time when he/she is away, we'll then need to find part-timers. Another staff will be coming in every sunday. When our sunday part-timer is in then I can take sundays off (that is during unpeak period). Finally....my long-awaited off day.

Heard the saying '3 is a crowd'. That's true here too. Why I say so it's coz with this kinda crowd, 3 people serving in the shop is too many. 2 people is more than enough. So for now, we are not intending to hire more people. That's what we've been doing in the early days. Eveything was working fine then until we hired that troublemaker and then problems start arising. Shouldn't have hired him/her. Big mistake!

Last time keep having missing stocks (not displayed items but items in the store. No one goes into the store except staffs. Obviously an inside job). Have checked most of the stocks these few days, and so far not a single missing stock. This prove that our current staffs are honest and previously certain of our staffs are 'thieves'. Who exactly?? No one knows. But we've a couple of suspects in mind.

Boring....sianz...so quiet

Since after CNY, sales have been dropping. Well...not only for us, everyone else also complaining the same thing. Not only in suntec, but also in queensway. And I believe other places too. Getting so boring here. Retail is tough. My mum wants to stop retail totally and do f&b instead. But I am not a gal who give up just like that (one of the lines in one of the songs by Atomic Kittens)

Will be getting out of suntec. Most likely. See how the talk (not me but my dad) with suntec CEO and GM is 1st. Have approached a few other malls to try getting units there. Most shops in My.PlayGround, have also given up. Some of them their contracts are ending already (only 1 year ma), so not much of problem for them. Ours is a 3 years and 2 years contract for our long and circular unit respectively. If we were to shift out, we would have to find people to take over the unit first. Cineleisure not giving us the unit already. Putting us on waiting list instead Bugis Mall (the new one opposite Bugis Junction and beside Bugis Street) haven't gotten back to us. Neither has Jurong Point (we're hoping to get the unit next to 77th Street there). Friendly competition is good for both Elim and myself. Pray hard can get.

Went to far east plaza, bugis junction and bugis street yesterday to look around, check out other shops' prices and display and also what units available are of good location. Left the shop to the staffs. One of my staff is working full time till end of this month only (i.e. this friday). He/She is converting to part-time on sundays (i.e. if we need anyone on sundays). Then it's down to 1 temporary staff here in suntec and another full-timer in queensway. Looks like I would have to be in the shop more often now.

Back in Singapore...back to reality

I am back in Singapore. Arrived on sunday evening. And it was back to work/reality on monday morning. Man...sales not good during the time we are away (esp queensway). Sheessh....

All of our staffs are not supposed to be off for 2 weeks (last week when we were away and this week) coz of the 2 so-called off days we gave them (9th & 10th) when the shop closed for 4 days for CNY. Out of the 3 staffs that we've now, 1 get to have his/her off day as usual this week for we owe him/her an off day for working the whole week without any off on the week before CNY. The other 2 are taking a few days unpaid leave. We don't simply give staffs unpaid leave. 1 have informed us way way in advanced. Reason valid. The other reason was "tsk...tsk...". Work less than 1 month and taking unpaid leave. He/She already kena warning. Disappointed. I shan't name names or go into details here.

So I guess I need to be here everyday and it looks like it might be another week of not being able to go for service. Sigh.... I miss church and all my cg mates.

All we need for now is only 3 dedicated and reliable full time staffs (2 in suntec and 1 in queensway) yet it's so difficult to find. Part-timers only required for the days when the full-timers are off and during peak periods (like pre-christmas and pre-CNY). For now, out of our 3 staffs we got, only 2 I can say is pretty reliable. But the problem is that 1 of them is not full time and the other is not up to standard yet. I shan't name names here.

So here I am....back to reality.

Happy Valentine Day to all

Happy Valentine Day to all (friendship day to those singles). My parents and I are still in London. Been going out to walk around and shop. More of window shopping for me. I didn't buy anything. My sister did. Also went for 2 musicals, "The Sound of Music" and "Wicked", last night and the night before respectively. They are good. I enjoyed them.

London Fashion Week Exhibition is also on. But this week it is only open FOC for people who are in the trade (it will only be open for the public next week at a cost). We tried getting in using our San Street name card. They asked us a few questions (like what we do etc), looked at our shop website then gave us each name tags that say "San Street, Singapore, International Buyers" to let us in. How cool is that! Seems like San Street is a big name and we can just walk in to Fashion Exhibits for free by just showing our name cards. Though we managed to get in, there wasn't anything suitable in there for our street wear apparel shop. The exhibitors there are mainly ladies fashion.

Weather here is starting to get cold. The last few days of winter here were pretty like the winter in Australia. Not really that cold. But today is really chilly. Got a bad cold.

Alrighty...that's it for now. Going back to Singapore in a few days time. Though I get a break from the shop for a while, but I still feel very tired. But AT LEAST I get a break and don't have to think of the shop though sometimes I get awaken by calls from the shop (coz of the time difference the opening hrs of the shop happens to be london time 3.30am to ard 1.30pm.

In London....

I am now in London....since Thurs night (1st day of CNY). Will be here till 17th night. We close all our shops early on wednesday (CNY eve). That day we went for dinner then went down to Chinatown to "cho re nao" (join in the festivity crowd) with my parents and maid.

Have missed about 3 weeks of svcs and cg. Will be here in london for 2 weekends. So going to miss another 2. Sianz. But on a lighter note, I get to get away from the shop for a while. We closing the shops for for 4 days for cny and opening on the 5th day of cny (11th feb) which is tmr london time (today singapore time).

Pre-CNY period was pretty busy in the shop. Had no time for food and the loo during the weekend for the crowd just keeps coming in. Needed at least 3 people in suntec and 2 people in queensway outlet. The saturday just before the CNY (think it was the 2nd of feb), I went to work as usual but after abt 1/2 an hr I opened shop, I felt nausesous and faint. Was feeling really sick that I couldn't stay. Called my mum who was in suntec with my other 2 staff (i was in queensway). She came over to pick me up and brought me to the doctor. After that went back home to rest for about an hour and then headed back to queensway to help out. Had no choice as it was a really really busy and peak period.

The flight to London on thursday was pretty empty. My parents and I had a total of 7 seats (though we only bought 3 tickets). We could lie down and sleep. The timing of the flight was just perfect. We don't have much of a jet lag after we arrived in London. The last time I came to London was before I went to Australia to study. Think it was in 2000 or 2001. That's about 6, 7 years ago. Everything still looks the same.

Yesterday morning we were out for a 2 days 1 night road trip to windsor castle, bath and stonehenge with my parents, sisters and elder sister's bf. Intially we intended to go on a day tour but decided that driving there on our own will be better. So we rented a 7-seater mpv and booked 2 rooms in a B&B hotel in Bath. It was last min. We did all these just the night before we left. As it was last min, most hotels were fully booked. We were lucky to find 2 rooms (1 family and 1 double). It was a pretty small B&B hotel with only 20 rooms (only 2 people serving) but service is pretty good. We are pretty impressed.

In the midst of the road trip to stonehenge before heading back to London, I got myself into a mini accident. My fingers on my left hand was caught in between the front passenger car seat door when it was slammed shut. I was getting into the backseats then. Ouch. Thank God that only my middle and fourth fingers are slightly bruised esp my middle finger. Nothing is broken. I am so accident prone. And now I am so tired. Going to go get a shower.

Tired....

Staffs always say they are tired. We already give them all 1 off day a week still say they are tired. Even if they don't get off day for that week, it will be carried over to the next week and they get 2 off day that week. Not like we don't give them off day. What work is not tiring?

If they say they are tired, then what about me????? I am super duper tired, or should I say exhausted. Haven't had a single off day since 20th Apr 2007...today is 31st January 2008...that's 286 days of work without any off day. (other then that 1 day i wasn't feeling well...that can't even be considered as a proper off day). These days they still get to go back at the usual time of 9.30p.m while we stay till 10pm.

Everyone who I talk to say that I look like I don't have enough sleep. My mum say I don't have enough sleep is coz I sleep late at night. HELLO??? It's not I don't want to sleep early...is I can't get to sleep. I'll just toss and turn in bed.

Haix....because of CNY peak period...I couldn't go for both svc and cg. I've already missed 2 weeks of svc and cg. 1 more week to go before we close for the CNY. Then I'll be away in London and so I'll miss another 2 weeks of svc and cg. There's more than a mth of svc and cg. So sad. I want to go...yet I can't go. So busy in the shop on weekends that we have to run about the shop and don't have time to eat or for the loo). Weekdays sales only starting to pick up this week. People buying last min (mainly in the evening) clothes for the new year.
