Our bugis shop has been opened for 1 month ++, almost 2 months already. So far bugis outlet is doing the best but still not good enough. Coz of the recession that is going on. For the past few months, business has been slow and a lot of things have been happening esp staffs coming and going.
Firstly, sales has dropped. A staff who left sometime last year on impulse & requested to come back to restart all over again with us after few months having worked for others have once again left on impluse. He came and went twice and each of this 2 times, he never managed to stay for more than 2 months. All because of that attitude of his. Recently I heard that he'll be quitting his current job at the end of this month. End of this month would mark exactly 2 months since he left us. Once again not again to stay in a job for more than 2 months. Sigh...he's always changing jobs + that attitude of his.....is not going to do him good or getting him anywhere. But whatever it is, it is his choice....nothing that we tried doing/saying could change him.
After he left, we had a temp staff working a month plus before a new girl joined us a days ago. This new girl is the girlfriend of our weekend part timer(he used to work for us full time and now has gone back to study). Been training this new girl for the past few days and as such have been at the shop front for the past few days. Dunno how she's going to fair. So far she hasn't shown satisfactory performance. Other than this new staff & our weekend part timer, we have our china staff who has been working for us since mar last yr & 2 malay staffs who are sisters.
We already knew the elder sis (22 years old married with a child) before she started working for us as she was working for a neighbouring shop in suntec previously. Her younger sis is only 17 years old. We considered so so so so so so long before deciding to hire the younger sis coz we have already lost faith in 16 17 18 years olds. She doing ok so far not giving us the problem that the other 16 17 18 years old been giving us in the past. After all her sis (who's working for us) and are mum are monitoring her and so she cannot play play. Other than her, we are NOT going to employ anyone younger than 19 years old.
