Happy CNY to all!!! Went back to Malaysia to visit relatives for 4 days during CNY. It has been a tiring and dramatic CNY. Long story!!! Just hope and pray everything will work out and there will be peace in dad's family.
Prior to CNY break has been super duper busy with work and managing of business coz every year pre-christmas to CNY is the peak period for retail business. After that, sadly to say sales will start declining. Since after last year's CNY, sales has not been good. Super slow!!! Business during Christmas 2011 to CNY 2012 has also been slow compared to 2010-2011's. This is not just for us. For each and every retailers I had the chance to speak to. Retail in Singapore is getting tougher and tougher. Sometimes I really don't know if I should listen to my parents and just call it quits. They have always wanted me to close down the shop but I don't want to give up just like that!
It has always been my dream to open a retail shop of my own. In the past I wanted to open a christian bookshop cum cafe. Somehow that dream became an apparel shop instead. However, I don't want San Street to be just any apparel shop. I want it to be a medium where I can fulfilled the Cultural Mandate. This has always been on my mind ever since after SOT 2010. But I didn't know how to go about achieving it. Then I chanced upon ThreeThirty website and bought a tee from them online. After that, we met up and discussed about the possibility of ThreeThirty and San Street collaborating with each other. It started out with San Street consigning tees from ThreeThirty. Right now, San Street and ThreeThirty are officially affiliated partners with San Street funding the printing of the tees and ThreeThirty working on the designs and marketing aspects. The founders of CHC are also fellow City Harvesters. 1 happens to be in the same SOT batch as me and another who just joined them happens to be an ex cell group member of mine. Designers and models are also from CHC. :) I'm certain that this is the moving of the HS, chancing about ThreeThirty's website is definitely not a coincidence. Check out the designs at San Street Far East Plaza or online at http://www.threethirty.sg. And help spread the word.

This collaboration with ThreeThirty is ultimately going to be the deciding factor for San Street this year. It'll be a make-it or break-it thing :'( (My parents has been thinking of giving up on San Street. They actually didn't want to go ahead with this collaboration but I insisted). God, work through San Street and ThreeThirty and use us to fulfil the Cultural Mandate. If you can bring us to this, you CAN and WILL surely bring us through this.
Won't be going ahead with the "Promising SME 500 2012 Award". Parents disagree to it as it cost quite a sum of money. I am thinking of revamping San Street website though with the help of Dan to facilitate and bring in more sales through the website. But this will be coming out from my own pocket not the company's. Gotta save up.
