After waiting for so long, Iluma finally gave us a reply. They have agreed to rent the shop to us for another year BUT with NO REDUCTION in rental. However, with the change of management, Iluma will be undergoing some sort of revamping/renovation which might take more than 1 year. I doubt that there will be any crowd coming to Iluma to shop when the building is being renovated. Whatsmore it's doing to be so dusty during the renovation. Have decided to shift out of Iluma. 27th March will be the last day we will be in Iluma. Will be packing up on 28th and reinstating the shop on 29th. Have got to arrange for all the electricity, telephone, internet, NETS, credit card facilities in the shop to be terminated. Every new malls/new concepts in malls that we enter doesn't seem to work out for us. Suntec MPG was like that and it's the same case with Iluma. Very discouraging! Thank God Far East Plaza is more or less stable. Have got no intention to expand yet. Will have to work on things like "what new things to bring in", "what to continue selling" and "what to stop bringing in" 1st and let Far East Plaza settle down before making other decisions. Many other shops in Iluma are shifting out too. They are all having "closing down sale"..."moving out sale"...etc. Ours sound nicer - " SALES UP TO 70% off". LOL! Other than those shops who signed 3 yrs contract with Iluma are staying; 3 other shops on the same level whose contract are expiring has extended their contract. Not sure about the shops on the other levels.
There is a high possibility that San Street will be going into partnership with ThreeThirty Christian Fashion Apparel. The plan is they will 1st consign their current design to us to sell in the shop. After the new designs have come out we will then go into a partnership whereby ThreeThirty will do the designing/marketing/networking (since their network based is bigger than us) while San Street will fund the printing of the tees. We'll then share the PROFITS with more of it going to San Street since we are the ones coming out with the $$$$$ to print the tees. The partnership means we somewhat OWN the brand. We also have plans of printing tees (e.g. school tees, camp tees) for customers. We can design for them or they can provide us with their own design.
The owner of ThreeThirty are actually members of CHC and are also attending the same svc as me. Moreover, 1 of them happens to be in the same SOT batch as me. 1 thing for sure is that both ThreeThirty and San Street has a common vision of making Christian Apparel a hit in Singapore and bringing Christ into culture. :))
On top of that, ThreeThirty will also be sharing their resources (ie. designers/models/photographer) with us at our cost to help to promote our own brand - San Moda. If we want, their models (who are all CHC members including AC2010 manhunt winner Lionel Choong and AC2010 beauty pageant runner-up Lousia Althea Tay) will wear our products for photoshoots. We can then feature these photos in our website/catalouge/flyers which will be much much much better looking than those we currently have in our website (taken on mannequinns). Their designers can also come out with new designs exclusively for us. In this way we no longer need to go on price wars with other shops in the same/neighbouring malls who are selling exactly the same items as us(which is what is happening to us right now). It aggrevates me whenever I see that. Once we clear those items we will no longer bring them in as we have decided NOT to continue working with that supplier anymore. They are stupid for doing such things! Have they ever ever considered how much we have more from them. Don't they know that by doing so they are ultimately losing a big customer. This is called "Guo He Chai Qiao".
